Car Window Tinting Price in Dubai & UAE 2026: AED Cost by Film, Brand & City

Quick answer: In 2026, full-car window tinting in the UAE costs AED 150–500 for basic dyed film, AED 400–1,500 for carbon, AED 800–2,500 for ceramic or nano ceramic, and AED 1,200–3,500+ for premium branded film. These prices are for a sedan. SUVs usually cost 20–40% more. Prices in Sharjah and Ajman tend to be lower than in Dubai for the same film.

If you have asked around for tint quotes, you have probably seen prices anywhere from AED 149 to over AED 2,000 for what sounds like the same job. That gap is real, and it is not always a scam. The price depends on four things: the film, the brand, the size of your car and where you get it done.

This guide breaks the price down in four separate tables (film type, city, brand and car size). It then answers the questions UAE drivers ask most often on forums and social media.

1. Car tinting price by film type (2026)

This is the biggest price driver. A sedan with cheap dyed film and the same sedan with branded nano ceramic can differ by more than AED 2,000.

Film type Sedan (AED) SUV (AED) Heat rejection (TSER*) Typical lifespan in UAE heat Best for
Dyed / basic

Privacy only, short-term ownership
Carbon
400–1,500
500–1,800
Medium (~35–45%)
5+ years, no fading to purple
Value for money
Ceramic / nano ceramic
800–2,500
1,000–3,200
High (~45–60%+)
10+ years
Daily driving in UAE summers
Premium branded (crystalline / top-line ceramic)
1,200–3,500+
1,500–4,500+
Highest
10–15 years, manufacturer warranty
Luxury cars, long ownership

\TSER = Total Solar Energy Rejected. Section 7 explains why this is the number to compare, not “99% IR rejection”.

Why does nano ceramic range from AED 500 to AED 2,500? “Nano ceramic” is a type of film, not a brand. Local or unbranded nano ceramic films often cost AED 450–900 for a sedan. The same type of film from a premium international brand, with a registered warranty, costs AED 1,500–2,500. Both can be genuine, but they don’t perform the same or come with the same warranty.

2. Car tinting price by city: Dubai vs Sharjah vs Ajman

The same film often costs less outside Dubai. Shops in Sharjah’s and Ajman’s industrial areas pay lower rent than shops in Dubai, and they compete harder on price.

City Basic / carbon (sedan) Ceramic / nano ceramic (sedan) Premium branded (sedan) What to expect
Dubai
AED 200–1,500
AED 800–2,500
AED 1,500–3,500+
Widest range; branded showrooms and dealerships sit at the top
Sharjah
AED 150–800
AED 450–1,500
AED 1,200–2,500+
Usually 15–30% below Dubai for the same film, especially in Industrial Areas
Ajman
AED 150–700
AED 150–700
AED 1,200–2,500+
Similar to Sharjah; fewer shops carry premium brands

These are typical market quotes from public UAE price guides and owner discussions, checked in October 2026. Final prices depend on the car and the film.

Tinting rules are the same in every emirate, so a cheaper city does not mean a different legal limit (see section 9).

3. Car tinting price by brand

Brand matters for two reasons: real heat rejection and who stands behind the warranty. Here are typical UAE quotes for a full sedan.

Brand / film line Typical sedan price (AED) Film type Warranty type
Unbranded / generic “nano ceramic”
300–900
Varies (often dyed or hybrid)
Shop-only, usually 1–5 years
Armolan (nano ceramic lines)

V-KOOL
1,500–3,000+

Manufacturer
XPEL (Prime XR lines)
1,800–3,500+
Nano ceramic
Manufacturer
Black Feather nano ceramic
from AED 149
Nano ceramic
1 year, written warranty card

Brand prices are typical market quotes, not list prices. Black Feather does not fit 3M film. 3M is included only so you can compare.

Is the brand worth the extra cost? If you will keep the car for 5 years or more, usually yes. You get stable heat rejection and a warranty that the manufacturer honours, not just the shop. If you will sell the car within 1–2 years, a good carbon or mid-range ceramic film gives most of the comfort for much less money

4. Price by car size, glass and coverage

5. Why quotes range from AED 149 to AED 2,000+ for the "same" job

Two quotes for “nano ceramic tint” can cost very different amounts for these reasons:

  • Different film, same name. “Nano ceramic” is not a protected term. Some cheap films are dyed or hybrid films sold as ceramic.
  • Brand and warranty. A manufacturer-backed warranty registered to your car costs more than a shop’s verbal promise.
  • Labour quality. Cutting by hand vs computer-cut patterns, a dust-free bay, heat-shrinking the rear glass and removing door panels all add time.
  • Car and glass. SUVs, curved glass and panoramic roofs use more film and take more time.
  • Location and overheads. A Dubai showroom costs more to run than a workshop in an industrial area.
  • What’s included. Some low prices leave out the sun strip, VAT or removal of old film.

A simple rule: ask every shop for the brand and film name, the TSER %, the warranty years and the total including VAT, all in writing. Then compare quotes on those four things, not on the headline price.

6. Is cheap tint (AED 150–300) worth it in UAE heat?

For most UAE drivers, no. Here’s why:

  • It fades and turns purple. Dyed film uses dye that breaks down under strong UV. In Dubai and Sharjah summers, many budget films start to fade, turn purple or bubble within 1–2 years, and sometimes within 6–12 months.
  • It mostly gives privacy, not heat rejection. Dark dyed film blocks light but lets a lot of infrared heat through, so the cabin still gets hot.
  • Removal costs extra. When it fails, you pay AED 100–430 to remove it before you can fit new film.

Do it once, or replace cheap tint every 1–2 years?

An example over 6 years of owning a sedan:

Type Cheap dyed tint Nano ceramic once
First fitting
AED 300
AED 1,000
Replacements (2 more)
AED 600
AED 0
Old tint removal (×2)
AED 300
AED 0
6-year total
AED 1,200
AED 1,000

Hot, fades
Cooler, stable

7. Best heat rejection for the money: what % should you expect?

Shops often advertise “99% IR rejection”. That number measures only part of the infrared spectrum and sounds bigger than the real effect. The number to compare is TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejected): how much of the sun’s total heat the film blocks.

Film Typical TSER What it feels like
Dyed
~20–30%
Darker, but still hot
Carbon
~35–45%
Noticeably cooler
Good ceramic / nano ceramic
~45–60%+
Much cooler; the AC catches up faster

Typical ranges. Ask for the film’s spec sheet.

Does premium film keep the cabin cooler and save AC fuel? It keeps the cabin and seats cooler, and the AC cools the car faster after parking in the sun. The fuel saving is real but small and hard to measure, so be wary of anyone promising a specific fuel figure. The main benefit is comfort and protecting your interior from UV

8. Warranty: how long, and who stands behind it?

Film Type Shop-only warranty Manufacturer warranty
Typical length
1–5 years
5 years to lifetime (depends on the brand)
Who pays if it fails
The shop, if it still exists
The film manufacturer, through any authorised installer
Transferable when you sell?
Rarely
Sometimes. Check the warranty card
Covers
Bubbling, peeling, fading
Bubbling, peeling, fading, discolouring
Doesn’t cover
Accidents, scratches, vandalism, cleaning with harsh chemicals
Same

Always ask for a written warranty card that shows your car, the film name and the warranty years.

9. Legal tint limits (and the cost of getting it wrong)

UAE rules apply in every emirate: side and rear windows can be tinted up to 50%, and the front windscreen cannot be tinted (a top sun strip is the common exception). Fines start at AED 1,500, and an over-tinted car can also fail inspection or be impounded. Telling the shop it should be “UAE legal” does not protect you: the car owner is responsible.

See the full rules: UAE car tint law and legal VLT limits

10. How to tell if the film is genuine (not fake "nano ceramic")

  • See the roll and box. Ask to see the brand name and product code printed on the roll or liner before fitting starts.
  • Get a registered warranty. Genuine brands issue a warranty card or online registration with a serial number.
  • Ask for a heat lamp demo. A good shop will show you the film blocking heat under an IR lamp.
  • Check your phone signal. Metallic films can weaken phone, GPS and Salik tag signals. Real ceramic does not.
  • Be suspicious of very low prices. Branded nano ceramic for AED 300 is almost certainly not the real thing.

11. Dealership vs independent tint shop: is the extra cost justified?

Type Dealership Specialist independent shop
Price
Often 30–80% higher
Lower for the same film
Film choice
1–2 brands
Several brands and price levels
Who fits it
Often sent out to a subcontractor
Done in-house
Warranty
Dealer warranty
Shop warranty and/or manufacturer warranty

Dealership tint is convenient when you are buying the car. Paying the extra is only worth it if you know exactly which film and warranty you are getting. You can usually get the same film fitted for less at a specialist shop

12. Choosing a tint shop in Sharjah

If you are comparing shops in Sharjah, check for:

  • Prices listed for each film type, by car size
  • The brand and TSER % stated in writing
  • An indoor, dust-free fitting bay
  • A written warranty card
  • Recent Google reviews that mention tinting

13. Time, VAT, quotes and discounts

  • How long does it take? Most cars take 1.5–3 hours, so same-day fitting is normal. Large SUVs, panoramic roofs or old tint removal can take half a day.
  • Curing time: Keep the windows up for 3–5 days. Small haze or water spots usually clear as the film dries.
  •  Group or fleet discounts: Many shops offer 10–15% off for 2 or more cars. Families and small fleets should ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Full-car tinting in Dubai costs about AED 200–500 for basic film, AED 400–1,500 for carbon and AED 800–2,500 for ceramic or nano ceramic for a sedan. Premium branded film can cost AED 3,500 or more.

Sharjah is usually 15–30% cheaper than Dubai for the same film. Sedans start from about AED 150 for basic tint and AED 450 for nano ceramic. See Black Feather's Sharjah tint prices.

SUVs usually cost 20–40% more than sedans because they have more glass. Panoramic roofs and curved rear glass add more.

Yes, if you keep your car for 3 years or more. It rejects much more heat than dyed film, does not fade or turn purple, and usually comes with a 10+ year warranty.
